Portrait der 1925 in Memphis geborenen Othella Dallas die auch im hohen Alter von abgeklärter Altersmilde nichts wissen will. Aus dem einstigen «Little Girl» wurde die «Grand Old Lady» des Jazz & Blues. Mit 19 wird sie von der grossen Choreographin Katherine Dunham entdeckt, studiert an der Dunham School of Theatre and Dance in New York und wird gefeierte Solotänzerin. 1950 beginnt sie ihre Gesangskarriere in Paris und steht bald mit den grossen des Jazz auf der Bühne. 1953 heiratet sie einen Schweizer und ist seit 1960 wohnhaft in der Schweiz. Am 28. November 2020 verstarb Othella Dallas im Alter von 95 Jahren.
