Anders als früher in die USA immigrierte Generationen, orientiert sie sich nicht an moralischen und religiösen Vorbildern. Sie entscheidet in erster Linie für sich selber.

Ein subtiler Film des chinesisch-amerikanischen Regisseurs Wayne Wang über Generationenkonflikte und den Wandel vom kommunistischen zum modernen, westlich geprägten China. "The Princess of Nebraska" bildet zusammen mit "A Thousand Years Of Good Prayers" ein filmisches Ensemble.
